Kaufman - The Kaufman County Elections Administration was honored by the League of Women Voters of Texas with an Outstanding website rating. Only 13.8% of Texas Counties received this rating.
In January, a dedicated team of volunteers from the League of Women Voters meticulously evaluated all 254 county election websites, scrutinizing links for voter registration, vote-by-mail tracker, poll watcher training, and more. The items reviewed were sourced from the reputable Center for Civic Designs, which provides resources for election officials. The websites were also carefully examined to ensure information was offered in languages other than English or Spanish.
Kaufman County received an Outstanding rating, which only 35 counties received.
Kaufman County Elections Administrator Tandi Smith told inForney.com that she was proud of that achievement and will continue to work on innovative ways to improve the county site.
"We are proud to be recognized for this achievement," said Smith. "We will continue to move forward and strive for innovative ways to make information clear and accessible for all voters in Kaufman County."
Dorothy Marchand, the League of Women Voters of Texas' vice president of voter education, said in her news release that she is thankful for the hard work elections administrators do to meet voters' needs.
