The League of Women Voters of Texas is co-hosting a webinar "Assault Rifles - What can be done?" with the Texas LULAC and the NAACP Texas State Conference on July 13th, 2022 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. CST.


Panelists include: 

  • Art Acevedo, former Chief of Police for Austin, TX, Houston, TX, and Miami, FL.;
  • Dr. Roy A. Guerrero, Pediatrician  Uvalde Memorial Hospital;
  • Dr. Jeff Temple, Phd, Founding Director of the Center for Violence Prevention at the University of Texas Medical Branch;
  • Dr. Sandra McKay, MD, FAA.  Associate professor of pediatrics with McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston and nonresident fellow at Rice University’s Baker Institute for Public Policy.

Moderator: Gene Preuss, PhD, University of Houston history professor.
